Very quite hotel. No one is bothering you. The breakfast was good and the dinner was excellent (fixed menu). The athmosphere is great and very peaceful. The arrangement of the accommodation is just great. We had the chestnut suite and that was gorgeous. We had a private patio with a shower in it, as well as very nice bath. Great accommodation and highly recommended. The packed breakfast was surprisingly very good when we asked for it. Thumbs up for this one!!!
No A/C but there is a ventilator in the bed room. Everything else was just great.

The hotel is charming, the grounds are lovely, the room was fine.
The access to the hotel is very hard; the road is pitted and almost impassable! The food is very fair, to say the most. The wi fi didn't work properly

The Chestnut Country Lodge was a special experience. Christene and her staff go out of their way to give each guest a personal experience. They strive to understand our mood, needs and offer a suggestion based on what we are really looking for, and they succeeded in doing so in a great and amazing fashion!! The food was just tantalizing, breakfast was rich and catered to all of the different needs. Dinners were superb, plated and served with the utmost care for detail and taste. The wine list is compact but the wines in it are each hand picked and thus very enjoyable, meeting a wide standard of tastes. The location is just amazing, close to all of the sights and sounds of spectaular Mpumalanga. The service, the location and especially the highly professional and utterly friendly attitude of the staff made this one of our best vacations ever!! We will most certainly be back!!
That we had to leave after 4 wonderful nights

We finished our holiday to Kruger at the Lodge and wished we could stay longer. The lodge is off the beaten track with a wonderful view over the valley. The rooms are comfortable and even have heating for the cooler winter months .The hosts are very welcoming .Great convivial atmosphere . It was great to be able to have dinner here with food being better then in most restaurants. They also have a small bar for drinks and chatting with other travellers. We would unhesitatingly recommend them for a longer stay.

This was in a lovely location. The owner was more than friendly and was very happy to serve us a different cut of meat for dinner as we did not really like that which was on offer. The food was freshly cooked and delicious. However the bedrooms could or should have TV and/or radio. There was a TV in the lounge. Other than that, our stay was very pleasant. I would consider staying there again.
